A year ago today, April 5th 2012, six puppies were born who would have a huge impact on my life.
Their mum had a womb infection and couldn’t feed them, so the breeder brought them to the RSPCA. Us, being the fabulous foster family that we are, took them in, on April 10th 2012. We bottle fed them and did everything for them until they were 8 weeks old. Unfortunately, two (Marley and Fluke) didn’t make it, and passed away from Pneumonia.
Those 8 weeks were filled with a lot of hard work, sleepless nights, many tears but even more smiles and laughs. It’s not just that they were lucky to have us, but we were lucky to have them. Raising these innocent little souls, who, we were told afterwards, were not expected to make it was a life changing experience, and I feel blessed to have been part of that.
So, happy birthday, Bobby, Hachi, Missy and Shadow, and R.I.P Marley and Fluke, gone but never forgotten.
